League of Legends has finally revealed splash art and ability effects for the FunPlus Phoenix 2019 World Championship skins. These skins all feature colors and elements from the FunPlus Phoenix logo, and they include special taunts and recall animations designed by the team’s members.

These new skins have been in development ever since FunPlus Phoenix won the 2019 League of Legends World Championship. The champions receiving them include Thresh, Malphite, Vayne, Gangplank, and Lee Sin.

 

About FunPlus Phoenix

FunPlus Phoenix is a professional esports organization in China that participates in many local and international tournaments. Founded in 2017, it previously completed the 2019 League of Legends Pro League tournament season in China with 28 wins and only four defeats. The 2019 World Championship served as their first international appearance, making their victory there especially notable.

The organization has teams for a variety of other games, including Call of Duty, CS: GO, and Fortnite. But it has already made quite the name for themselves in League of Legends. Despite being relatively new to the professional scene, this is definitely a team to watch during the 2020 League of Legends Pro League (LPL). As of right now, they are ranked within the top four in the 2020 LPL.

2019 World Championship recap

Many teams made it to the 2019 World Championship to compete against each other. Fan favorites like Fnatic, SK Telecom T1, and Cloud9 all made the roster. However, only G2 Esports and FunPlus Phoenix reached the finals. The results of the final three games shocked everyone.

In the championship matches, G2 took home a chilling defeat against FunPlus Phoenix. Phoenix powered through each game and concluded with a flawless victory. Check out the video below to see some cool plays by the team and additional highlights from the final game.
