With the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just over the horizon, many fans are hoping to see some classic MW2 weapons enter the fray. The UMP-45, ACR, and Spas-12 are all on players’ wishlists for the upcoming game. However, perhaps at the top of the list is the Intervention, which is easily the most recognizable sniper in the series’ history. While we don’t know if the Intervention will arrive in Modern Warfare 2, fans can use a replica of it in Warzone Season 5.
Players can closely recreate the Intervention by equipping Modern Warfare’s AX-50 sniper rifle. This sniper isn’t a one-to-one remake of the Intervention, but it’s the closest thing that fans get in this current version of Warzone. Warzone 2 may include the Intervention when the game comes out in November, giving fans an actual way of using the sniper; for now, though, players will need to use the AX-50, which is a strong sniper in its own right.
Call of Duty YouTuber TheKoreanSavage publicized this AX-50 loadout in Warzone. TheKoreanSavage has become well-known for finding weapon builds in Warzone that reflects that of older Call of Duty guns. This time, they’ve taken the AX-50 and turned it into the Intervention with a couple of key attachments. Players can see the full loadout below.
- Barrel: 32.0 Factory Barrel
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
- Underbarrel: Tripod
- Stock: Singuard Arms Assassin
If players do end up equipping this AX-50 loadout, they’ll see that the gun actually does look like the classic Intervention. While it might not act the same in-game, players will have a nice quickscoping sniper on their hands, which is what the Intervention was famous for in MW2.
Perhaps Modern Warfare 2 will add the Intervention to the lineup of weapons when the game fully launches. That would, in turn, give players access to the sniper in Warzone 2 when it releases on Nov. 16. As of right now, though, nothing has been confirmed on that front.
